Rain, Algorithms & Wood Sheds: Spring 2018

Dan Weber February 8, 2018News

Hi Friends! I came home off the road 2 months ago and old man winter in ‘My Little Corner of the World’ in Vancouver, WA was in full swing. Grey leaden skies. Rain turning to showers. Then more rain. Rinse and repeat. Then we had one magical night of snow, on Christmas Eve. Then the rain came back, it turned …

Breaking News!!! I'm selling shirts!! 😆😆Hear me out: #1: Everyone I know is definitely NOT selling shirts---or any kind. So there's a "market inefficiency" happening. Warren Buffet mentioned that phrase once so I tend to believe him. #2. I have LOTS of shirts. Ooops...almost spelled 'Shirts' without the 'R' 😂 #3. And not just t-shirts...I have a whole bunch of western/pearl snap 'cowboy shirts'. Some are 1970's vintage collectors items and some are just really F-ing cool. Most are size Large, a few Medium and the occasional XL. And most were worn at least 1 or 3x for a show I played. I might even be able to dredge up a photo or 2 of the show I wore it in. Full disclosure: This isn't anything as spectacular as a 'game worn' Tom Brady jersey that sells for $4,299 but I'm pretty sure I can beat that price commensurate with my lack of fame. Besides, I probably sweated in mine and Tom likely never broke a sweat. But rest assured, they've been washed! #4. In general, the shirts (tee and cowboy) either no longer fit, I no longer wear them or in many cases I never actually wore them. A lot of the t-shirts I have were given to me and never worn. #5. Thing is: I have all these shirts I was given for playing "XYZ" Festival. Man I LOVE a cool festival t-shirt but usually I wore them once or not at all and then put them in a box. Like I'm just uncomfortable wearing one with my name on it. Maybe it's because my name was always at the bottom of the shirt...alphabetical or talent wise, that's how it goes! 😏Maybe Ralph Lauren likes wearing a shirt with HIS name on it and a guy playing polo logo but that's a hard pass for me. For starters I don't play polo and secondly Ralph Lauren isn't even remotely cool. Like he's rich and makes terrible clothes for the Olympics every 4 years and for $998 you can get an "Opening Ceremony Blazer" that's red/white and blue and makes you look like you're the Thurston Howell the 3rd, and if you're married to "Eunice "Lovey" Wentworth Howell" maybe that's your thing. No judgements here. IMHO it'll look great at Trump's 2nd inaugural, the 2025 version of irony, the little guy voting for the ultra-rich fella. If that's not your thing Ralph will sell you his yacht or something similar to tickle your trickle-down bone... P.S.: To be fair (and honest), I kept all the festival posters, badges, swag and wristbands...I LOVE that stuff...but the t-shirts I could never quite wear. #6. So the tee-shirts are clean, in boxes (the pearl snap cowboy shirts clean and hung up), both taking up space in my storage unit (aka the dining room 😳) and the next time I move (which isn't too far off the horizon) I don't want to carry them around again.#7. I have a dislocated shoulder/possibly torn labrum and frankly putting any kind of shirt on is tedious...So there ya' go...maybe I'll take pictures of them and post them---or maybe I'll forget this whole idea ever happened. But make no mistake---making a little $$ is the object here...I'm sure we can agree on what's fair for whatever it is you may want...some of those old 1970's Western shirts are worth a small fortune online. Some not so much. Most of the festival tee-shirts are just fun/retro pieces... But if ya' want one, or are just curious, message me and let me know...there's some pretty cool shirts in my closet that I'd rather see worn than not. Peace~danP.S.: This is actually me---Dan. I've not been hacked nor cloned (they apparently don't care about me anymore which is fine for both of us). 😲 ... See MoreSee Less
